Privacy Policy

Version 2026-08

1. Information we collect

We collect the information you provide when you create an account (such as your name and email), optional personalization details you choose to add (such as a due date or baby’s birthdate), and information about your use of BirthBar (such as which episodes you’ve watched, to power “continue watching” and progress). Payment is handled by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to provide and improve BirthBar: to authenticate you, deliver the content and guides, remember your progress, process your subscription, and communicate with you about your account. We do not sell your personal information.

3. The BirthBar Guide (AI chat)

The BirthBar Guide is an AI-powered educational chat feature. Your messages are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a response and are subject to that provider’s handling of data in transit. We do not store your conversations with the BirthBar Guide. We keep only a daily count of how many messages you’ve sent, in order to apply fair-use limits — not the content of those messages. Please don’t share sensitive personal or medical details, records, or photos with the Guide.

If we ever change this practice — for example, to review conversations for quality — we will update this policy, tell you, and give you a way to delete your data.

4. Service providers

We rely on trusted service providers to operate BirthBar, including Supabase (accounts and database), Stripe (payments), our video host (streaming), and Anthropic (the BirthBar Guide). These providers process information only as needed to provide their service to us.

5. Data retention & your choices

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You can update your profile or cancel your subscription at any time from your account, and you may request deletion of your account by contacting us. We retain limited records where required for legal, security, or billing purposes.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

7. Children’s privacy

BirthBar is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes & contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected in the version above. Questions? Email birthbarinfo@gmail.com.
